Odissi Dance Recital at Lansing
Performers: Shreelina Ghosh and Manasi Mishra
Shreelina Ghosh is collaborating with Michigan-based Odissi performer Manasi Mishra in an attempt to bring the Michigan State University academia and Greater Lansing community together and experience a glimpse of ancient Indian classical aesthetic and spiritual traditions.
The artists will not only demonstrate the performative aspects of this two thousand year old danceform, but also try to project how it evolved from the sculptures of Konark and Khajuraho temples and vegetable-dye "Pata Chitra" artwork.
